If only the Big Wheel cared about acrobatics as much as daytime game show producers, Fernando would’ve had a shot to win it all. Instead, he ended up losing to Lisa, who just so happened to be newsworthy for a completely different reason. The lucky spinner on The Price Is Right appears to have hit the lottery twice, as her son is none other than NBA guard for the LA Clippers Patrick Beverly. In total, Lisa ended up winning two cars, a trip to Madagascar, and $41,000! Whether all that is cooler than the internet fame Fernando got from his fall is debatable, considering her celebrity just ensured a lot of sports fans will see his moment again and again. Maybe this is the beginning of this guy doing physical comedy at NBA halftime shows this time next year?
Co-scripted by Rob Greenberg and Bob Fisher, Overboard centers on Anna Faris as Kate Sullivan, a single mother of three daughters (Alyvia Alyn Lind, Hannah Nordberg, Payton Lepinski) who works cleaning carpets and delivering pizzas all while studying to become a nurse. She is struggling just to keep her head above water, and it’s at this particularly terrible time that she meets Leonardo Montenegro (Eugenio Derbez), a rich, egotistical prick living off the money from his father’s business. Kate is hired to clean the carpets of his yacht, but it’s an experience that goes horribly. Not only does he act endlessly sleazy, but he fires her and dumps her equipment in the ocean when she refuses to act like one of his servants. As bad as things are for Kate, Leonardo has made them even worse.
Of course, it’s not all that difficult to understand why younger audiences would be so excited to see Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Donald Glover has become a household name over the course of the last decade, and his presence on the film has become one of the most talked about elements of the entire affair. Just running down his resume is impressive; the 34-year-old was a writer on 30 Rock, a stand-up comedian, a fan-favorite cast member on Community, a wildly successful musician with his career as Childish Gambino, a hit showrunner/actor/writer with his work on Atlanta, and a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And that’s just handful of what he’s worked on.
She in fact is, yes…. It was an attempt, an attempt on our part — because we don’t like two dimensional roles or three dimensional villains, every villain is a hero in their own story and as insane and psychotic and brutal and violent as Thanos is, he’s a more complex villain if you go on a journey with him emotionally. He does care for things, and it is complicated for him to execute his plan, and it cost him something. He said at the end ‘It cost him everything,’ and that it was the only thing he loved which was Gamora. Which is why we put him back with her at the end. I just want to reiterate with the audience that he does feel true emotion, even though he is a monster.
Deadpool 2 marketing has, for the most part, avoided showing us a lot of the movie by focusing its trailers on Ryan Reynolds just being funny, but we finally have our first look at an uninterrupted scene in the movie, and it’s vintage Deadpool. The scene was shown earlier this week when Zazie Beets was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While technically Domino is the focus of the scene, Deadpool is there to insert his unique humor, “accidentally” comparing an attack on an armored truck to a graphic sex act. Check it out.
If Sheriff Hopper is rocking a new look in Season 3, what’s the special occasion? Is this the season that Hopper will finally put the moves on Joyce Byers? Will is home, Bob is gone, Hopper is a dad now, it all seems as though the stars have aligned for these two to finally give things a shot. The real question is what Joyce’s opinion on facial hair is, since Bob was pretty clean shaven throughout the bulk of Season 2. Of course, maybe he’s not trying to impress Joyce at all, but rather some other woman. Hell, he might just be doing it for himself because he wants to look cool, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a single dad doing something for himself!
As reported by E! News, The SWAT team was brought to the residence after Joshua James Corbett talked about hosting a weapon on his person and made threats to use it. The crisis negotiators spent five hours trying to persuade Corbett to leave the house, but they were ultimately unsuccessful. It was when they eventually decided to enter the premises that the team discovered Corbett’s corpse, where he had died from a self-inflicted wound. It remains unclear what kind of self-inflicted wound it was, though, as there are now conflicting reports as to whether or not the death was a result of a gunshot. It’s also unclear what the warrant was for, though there’s reason to suspect what it could be.
The Fifty Shades franchise movies are, for the most part, set in the Pacific Northwest. To mimic the setting, Fifty Shades Freed filmed mostly in Toronto, and that’s where nearly all of Eric Johnson’s scenes were listed. However, there was one scene set in Europe, and he says he never believed the film would actually work it into the budget to fly him halfway across the world in order to get like 10 seconds of footage together. (If you’ve seen the movie, you know exactly how quickly his time onscreen flies by.) To his immense surprise, Fifty Shades Freed wanted to get all of the details right, and that meant a Eurotrip for Johnson.
I mean, NCIS fans obviously miss Abby and Tony’s unique friendship, which at one point included the creation of a Tony Wall. But at least we can go back and put on older repeats whenever we want, while Pauley Perrette isn’t able to just zip back in time to make new happy memories with Michael Weatherly. She can also watch repeats and reminisce, obviously, but it’s not the same. (Incidentally, if Perrette ever wants to host “rerun” parties where she tells stories about the good ol’ days while older eps play, my mailbox is eagerly accepting invitations.)
Of course, while Simon Kinberg is definitely right, and reshoots are definitely part of the filmmaking process, it’s still worth considering the number of changes that have taken place in the X-Men franchise in recent months. Specifically, we already know that The New Mutants and X-Men: Dark Phoenix have both been delayed to August 2, 2019 and February 14, 2019, respectively. With such massive delays occurring for both of the upcoming mutant films, it leaves us wondering what type of creative overhauls have taken place in the X-Men world as the franchise has evolved.
