Today the Vive team announced it would begin offering the Vive Pro Starter Kit tomorrow, April 5, which is also the two-year anniversary of the Vive’s launch.
The bundle will include the Vive Pro headset, two Vive 1.0 controllers, and two 1.0 base stations for a cost of $1,100. The controllers and base stations are required to use the Vive, and don’t come included with the Pro’s regular $800 price tag.
This Starter Kit comes as a direct response to complaints about the price of buying these accessories separately. As Dan Mentioned in his Vive Pro review, the cost of buying sensors and controllers on their own comes out to a total of $530 – that’s more expensive than buying the base Vive itself, which includes those things alongside a headset.
